THE ROAD AHEAD:
Be a kind fellow traveller in our paths of love and service to the homeless mentally ill and destitute.
1. Jyothi Nivas Home: We have around 50 inmates in our big family (male and female). Founder director Mr. Johney, his wife Ms. Gracy and 2 daughters, and a few care givers live in the same premises along with the inmates, thus assuring a complete family atmosphere. We depend upon the providence of God expressed through His people for our needs.
We request philanthropic support of all kinds from organizations and individuals.
2. Occupational Therapy with Life Skill Development for Rehabilitation: Occupational therapy and life skill development for making the inmates self-reliant include the following: dairy management, piggery, tailoring, handicrafts, agriculture activities, brick making etc.
We request your support for advanced facilities for occupational therapy and skill development.
3. Awareness and Training for Public & Students: Our outreach programmes for extinguishing the stigma associated with destitution and mental illness within the general public, suicide prevention, cancer prevention, and for promoting socially responsible personality of the youth have been successful so far, and we would like to replicate these programmes all over India.
We request collaboration and sponsorships for these programmes from organizations and individuals.
4. Jyothi Nivas Kindergarten & Arts Academy: This provides low cost nursery education and dance training to children of families around Jyothi Nivas. The greatest achievement by this venture is the moral supports and solidarity of the local community that helps the sustainability of Jyothi Nivas Home.
