The Organization - Vision & Mission


The Organization…





Established in the year 1989… by a group of committed social activists, professionals and academicians, Jyothi Nivas Charitable Society is a secular and apolitical voluntary organization, that involve for the humanization and development of the poor, deprived and neglected sections of the society particularly in Wayanad district of Kerala State, India; and in general at the state and national levels. It is legally registered under The Kerala Societies Registration Act, 1860 as S. No….. and subsequently possess registrations under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act of the country (Reg. No…….) and Indian Income Tax Act (12 A. Reg. No…., and 80G Exemption Order No….) 

The organization is democratically governed and managed as per the established Bye-law and set Rules & Regulations of the organization.               


The Vision…

 The development vision of the organization stems from the Biblical spirit and the humanitarian values thereof; -especially from the Divine Words :


"……..Love one another as I have Loved you" (John.13-34)
“Whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it, never tell your neighbor to wait until tomorrow, if you can help him now” (Proverbs 3-27)
“When you give to the poor, it is like a lending to the LORD; and the LORD will pay you back” (Proverbs. 19.17)

The Mission…


According to the vision, the organization has identified the most deprived and neglected sections of the society as:
  • The Homeless / Destitute Psychosocial Patients.
  • The neglected children of the marginalized groups.
  • Distressed people tend to commit suicide.
  • The adolescence of the society.
As such, the humanitarian services of the organization focus on:
  • Providing, shelter, Care, Treatment and Rehabilitation of Homeless psychosocial patients
  • Providing quality formal education to socially deprived and neglected children.
  • Suicide Prevention Programmes.
  • Mental Health Promotion programmes among the adolescence
